Course Designer | Adjunct Professor                                                                                               

Developed targeted graduate level course, titled PR for the Real World to be included in the School of Leadership Studies Master of Communication and Leadership program curriculum at Gonzaga. Developed and recorded all video lectures to be used for the duration of the course. Will teach the first class in January of 2020.

2019 - 2020 - Supply Chain Communications Lead                                             

Direct the development of external supplier webpages to align with business goals. Use an array of communication tools to develop opportunities in community media. Manage supply chain story development to increase activity and engagement by putting the people, rather than the business unit, forward.

  • Collaborated with team of 10 to assist with crisis communications and complex projects during emergency coverage.

  • Doubled the number of stories being produced, resulting in a few being shared by suppliers externally through Twitter.

  • Created new series called Unsung Heroes to highlight important people protecting Boeing’s 160K employees from COVID-19, as a key member of an elite 15-member team on the Digital Editorial Board overseeing COVID information.

  • Used various analytical tools to measure competitor and supplier mindshare and digital engagement.

2017-2019 - Workplace Safety Communications Lead

Delivered organizational leadership by driving the strategic workplace safety initiative that included creating and implementing effective communications and creative approaches to audience engagement for Go for Zero, Boeing’s companywide workplace safety efforts. Directed and actively mentored junior communicators.

  • Oversaw 2019 companywide Safety Promise with 99% completion, the highest ever achievement through focused, inclusive, global communications.

  • Championed the 2017/2018 Safety Promise with a 14-point increase in participation over 3 years and 85% positive response from employees.

  • Created the first external safety story for Boeing, using influencer marketing to amplify messaging  viewed by up to 100K.

  • Built highly productive relationship with the National Safety Council, leading NSC communications workgroup to improve industrial workplace safety communications effectiveness and benchmarks.

  • Managed event planning, communication and publicity for 15 major events with 500+ attendees for Go for Zero and EHS. , including the win of The Campbell Award, a major industry safety award, and the 5-year Anniversary of Go for Zero.

  • Won a PRSA Totem Award for “making safety fun.”

  • Launched interactive kiosks in five locations and collected 100 videos of people discussing safety with 83% reported that they found the conversation to be effective and 81% reported feeling motivated, safer, or inspired.

  • Created groundbreaking and effective National Disability Month campaigns using a new approach to social media resulting in all stories as Top 10 Read.

2014-2017 - Research & Technology Communications Specialist

Exclusive responsibility for Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Missouri and BR&T Alabama research centers, including executives and lab managers in each location. Supported additional domestic and international locations as needed. Managed all communications for each location, including creating narratives, press releases, briefings, and establishing external and internal awareness. Created and owned the communications effectiveness progress monitoring to assure growth. Addressed critical business process challenges with Director and Management teams.

  • Key member of team to create 50+ highly placed internal stories, 100 employee messages, and 100+ news releases.

  • Internal communications for Executives led to Top Quartile results – 85% employee engagement vs +/-70% for others.

  • Created and led companywide teams of up to 17 to tell holistic autonomy and analytics stories internally and externally.

  • Created and implemented education and awareness campaigns focused on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, applied math, and other complex backend infrastructure items.

  • Managed several domestic and international media events including five ribbon cutting events in one year.

    • Hosted St. Louis research center ribbon-cutting cut with 3D printed scissors – pickup was 200% above KPIs and led to at least five TV and print media interviews.

    • Opening of the St. Charles Collaborative Autonomous Systems Laboratory – resulted in 20+ interviews and tours.

    • Virtual ribbon cutting for Applied Analytics in Alabama – pickup resulted in 17 stories in targeted media and recruitment of 300+ Engineers and highly-specialized tech employees.

  • Served on small team responsible for strategic planning and execution of all employee communications for the 2016 Boeing centennial.

  • Led the Boeing Room team of 16+ highlighting community historical treasures in the Museum of Flight.
